I am writing this little blurb about this body of my work in August of 2022. As you can see, these small works on paper are organized here under the title of “roller paintings” and are organized by year.

What you see here, like in the other yearly sub folders, is not a complete catalog of the output. It is a select sample of what I think is a good cross section of the type of work created and a hope that they are among the better ones.

This year I have done relatively few of these. The reason is simple. I now have a large functioning studio with lots of room and tools to create paintings, sculptures and other functional art projects large and small. These small works require very little space that can be as temporary as a hotel room and as inexpensive to create as sketching.

Having said that, the year is only a little over halfway. So who knows how many more there may be by the end of the year. Even though I have room to paint large canvases and make life size sculptures, there is an immediacy and intimacy about these works that makes them very satisfying to create.
